The spread or some time referred as the run line in baseball or betting ATS which stands for after the spread.
This involves giving or taking points. When you are reading the odds you will see a -# or a +#. The minus stands for the favorite in the match up and the number next to that is how many points you have to win by to get a win. The + stands for the under dog the team that is not favored to win. The number next to that represents the amount of points or runs that team can afford to lose by.

Money Lines
Money line odds are really simple. (-) is the team favored and all they have to do is win the game. You do not have to worry about the spread at all when you are betting on the money line.
Understanding the juice
I’ll give a money line example for a baseball game:
Mets +125
Yankees -145
Now there are two ways to look at this. If you are betting on the Yankees you have to lay $145 to win $100, and if you are betting on the Mets you can lay $100 to win $125. If you want to win $100 by playing on the Mets you do some simple math.
You do the amount you want to win and divide it into the underdog sports odd. In this case we want to win $100 so we would divide $100/$125 which we would get 0.8 or $80 to win $100.
Okay so you don’t care how much you win you know you just want to risk $50 on the game, but how much will it pay out? Simple multiply $50 by the + sports line which in this case is 125 so you would do $50 * 1.25 =$62.50.
If you are laying $50 on the Yankees you would do the opposite because they are favored $50/1.45 = $34.48. This is critical to understand, because you will need to manage your bank roll according to these sports lines. As always I always recommend Betonlineas a sportsbook they give you the lowest juice in the industry!
