Oh the technology of twitter. Twitter has to have PR Directors scratching their heads. Or maybe not, goes the old saying “no press is bad press.” No longer does a quote from a player need to be live on TV or microphone. You can now get quotes from players that are credible straight from Twitter. Some of the big names in sports are on there and write regularly which really gives Twitter all of its credibility.
Chad Johnson, or “Ocho Cinko,” as Chad would prefer you call him is on Twitter giving you a quote everyday that you can just either laugh at or shake your head in amazement. Quotes like,
Hello world, at the stadium in the hot tub , first of two practices starting in one hour, Suga so ready to have a sweet day, good luck DB's.
Yes i will streaming live from the locker room, will get permission to do it meetings as long as its not during game planning.
Does this mean he’ll be worse than last year?
Many more to come throughout the season I am sure including about 15 hours ago when Chad stated,
Oh it's on again, I want to fight Mike Golic now, always got something negative to say, how about this, you've gained all that weight you lost back!!!!
This came after, yesterday's show on NFL Live they were talking about the Bengals and Ocho Cinco came up on how he was motivated by words from Denzel Washington. Chad said that Denzel told him he was embarrassing himself, and that apparently motivated Chad to work hard this year.
Golic stated on NFL Live,
You know all the trouble and the rap sheet being longer than the roster. First off you hope that he does turn around and they either change and fly right or you get rid of him and say, we don’t need you you’ve been here long enough.
Well Twitter has given every player and even me for that matter the platform to say what you want to who you want.
Mike Golic did have a comment on ESPN radio this morning to Chad’s response,
CHAD THANKS FOR WATCHING NFL LIVE AND LISTENING TO OUR SHOW. WANT TO COME ON THIS MORNING AND CHAT?
Are you surprised that Chad had a comment back several minutes later via Twitter? Chad states,
Golic If y'all don't shut up I am gonna retire and come take over your damn show, keep it up!!!!
The only good part about that is Chad Johnson retiring, because he was basically non-existent last year. Sorry Chad I picked you up in my money league fantasy team when nobody wanted you. I backed you knew you were injured and gave you a lot of credit for playing through an injury. That takes guts and the heart to want to win! However, it did not seem like you really helped the team all year as the Bengals were among the league’s worst. Johnson/Cinco had 53 receptions for 540 yards and 4TD. Barely averaging over 10 yards per catch showed his inability to stretch the field like he normally does.
Moments later Mike Golic had a response on his radio show when told about Chad’s most recent comment Golic stated,
I’m old fashioned, not used to this Twitter thing and it’s foreign to me. What’s he doing doesn’t he have OTA’s? This is now become like stalking….I’ve invited him on the show and he can tell me why he’s mad at me, I don’t understand it.”
Johnson’s response,
I am going to Bristol after mini camp, they getting out of hand with the disrespect!!!! Child Please.
This should be Chad please….drop it Golic gave you a compliment stating you have a TV personality, but I don’t know if that’s saying much considering you are still in the NFL.
It is clear Ocho will get the last word on this, would you expect any less? If they were to fight lets break down how it would go!
THE MATCH UP:
It is impossible to find his weight currently which I find ironic since he is one of the cover boys for the Nutrisystem.
Golic, a former Notre Dame graduate and NFL player for the Eagles played on the Defensive Line for 8 years is 46 years old. He weighs in at 272 and stands at 6’5”
Chad Johnson on the other hand is 31 years old and stands 6’1” and I found several different weights for him 192 or 200lbs take your pick he is still at a disadvantage with that weight.
If anyone knows their reach let me know. Let’s be honest if both guys are in their prime I think hand down Golic takes this he is just bigger and stronger than Chad. Chad may have quickness, but I would think Golic could take a hit or two playing on the defensive line for years.
