This season has been mostly a downward roller coaster ride for our , but we look to continue to grind out a profit as we look towards the NFL and the season. In the meantime we will continue to post our hot and cold probable starters and on Wednesday there are only four starters who have an ERA under 3.00 over their last 3 starts, but we have 6 starters with ERA's over 6.00. That's a different trend compared to what we have been used to this season so it should make for some interesting .


Even though Zimmermann's ERA over his last 3 starts (2.70) is higher than his season average it is hard to turn away from him on the mound whenever he is under -150. Zimmermann has a 0.92 ERA at home this year and he's backed by a bullpen that has been great of late posting a 1.16 ERA over their last 10 games. Zimmermann has faced the Diamondbacks 3 times and has a 2.75 ERA so I think you can book him having a quality start on Wednesday night as he faces off against the lefty Wade Miley.

Miley has a 3.96 ERA on the road and really has slowed down since getting off to a great start. He does not have great control and the Nationals should be able to work the count against him. The Nationals are 37-16 in their last 53 home games vs. a LH starter and 22-4 in their last 26 as a favorite with Zimmermann on the mound.
