Sports Betting – Taking A Look At Saturday’s Slate

isn’t the only game in town any more as the football regular season is right around the corner, and as this is the third week of preseason, when teams will give their starters the most work, here are the top three games of a packed Saturday schedule. There is still some MLB betting in your sportsbook, and in NASCAR, one of the most anticipated races of the year goes off at Bristol.

NFL Betting

Jets Giants Odds (2:00 PM ET): In this battle of New York (technically, New Jersey as the New Meadowlands is in East Rutherford), expect a little more intensity than your normal preseason game. These two are always fighting for the top spot in the Big Apple, and their fanbases antagonize each other constantly, so this is going to be a fun game to watch.

Falcons Steelers Odds (7:30 PM ET): This could be the best matchup of the weekend if starters do in fact get a lot of work, because this will end up being a Super Bowl preview. Atlanta has high hopes for this year, while Pittsburgh is looking to get back to the big game after last year’s lost to Green Bay (who blew out the Falcons in Atlanta in the playoffs en route to the Super Bowl).

Patriots Lions Odds (8:00 PM ET): Your will likely point you towards this game, in which the Patriots are a 3.5-point favorite in Detroit, as New England made some big moves in the offseason and are the favorites to win it all. Meanwhile, the Lions have some talented young pieces in place and if a couple of breaks fall their way (and Matt Stafford stays healthy), the wild card in the NFC isn’t out of the question.

MLB Betting

Marlins Phillies Odds (1:05 PM ET): This is the first game of a doubleheader in Philadelphia between these two National League East clubs, and Florida will send Anibal Sanchez out to face the Phillies’ Roy Halladay.

Tigers Twins Odds (4:10 PM ET): Detroit’s Justin Verlander goes for his 20th win of the year against Minnesota and Carl Pavano, who just wants this season to end. With Verlander on the hill, the Twins’ number of runs could look like a .

Angels Rangers Odds (8:05 PM ET): In the big matchup of the day, Los Angeles’ Joel Pineiro takes on Texas’ C.J. Wilson in a huge game for the American League West race.

NASCAR Betting

Bristol Odds (7:30 PM ET): The night race at Bristol is always one of the biggest races of the year, and this year’s edition of the Irwin Night Race should be no exception. Kyle Bush is the current king of the half-mile bullring with four wins in his last five races, but with just three races until the Chase, drivers will go for broke to boost their odds.
