Free Pick on Indians -

I think this is a great spot to jump on the Indians. Toronto starter Mark Buehrle is getting a little too much after starting the season 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA and 0.905 WHIP. All three of those starts came against teams ranked in the bottom 12 in runs scored (Indians rank 10th), plus I just don't see the 35-year-old being able to sustain this kind of production. He had a 4.15 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with the Blue Jays last year and has a 4.64 ERA on the road over the last three seasons.

Cleveland on the other hand will be sending out Corey Kluber, who I think is undervalued right now because of a 5.40 ERA. Kluber got rocked in his first start of the season, but he's rebounded with back-to-back strong starts. He allowed just 3 runs over 6 innings against the Padres and 2 runs over 7 and 1/3 innings at Chicago. Kluber has been dominant at home since the middle of last year. In his last 11 starts at progressive field, he's 6-0 with a 2.51 ERA.

The Indians as a team are 9-1 in his last 10 starts at home, 6-1 in his last 7 starts following a team loss and a perfect 7-0 in his last 7 starts as a home favorite!

Saturday MLB Free Play from Doc’s Sports Take #965 Cleveland Indians over Toronto Blue Jays (Saturday, 1:05pm EST)  Mark Buehrle goes for his fourth straight win to open the season today in Cleveland. The veteran left-hander is 3-0 with a miniscule 0.86 ERA and 0.90 WHIP coming into this game. While those are impressive numbers without question, Buehrle is getting way too much respect in the betting markets because of it. Buehrle is 35-years old and we already know what he is – a savvy control freak who knows how to attack a major league hitter. He didn’t suddenly get any better in the offseason. He didn’t add a new pitch, isn’t throwing any harder and didn’t discover the fountain of youth. Mark Buehrle is the same guy we saw last season when he finished 12-10 with a 4.15 ERA, and we should expect his numbers to be similar to this at the end of this season. He’ll go up an Indians team that has an underrated lineup, so this could be the game where Buehrle comes back down to earth. Take the Indians today at a line that is below where it should be.
