Revenge is the ultimate motivator! That is exactly what Providence has going for them in the 2nd of 3 match ups these two will play in what they are calling the New England Classic. Bottom line Providence lost by two to this team a year ago at home and what happened was they played possibly one of the worst games ever and still managed to lose by just 2. They had 21 turn overs they are averaging just 10.7 this year they shot just 12-22 from the FT line, they gave up 48.1 FG% and 9-15 from three point land. They did out rebound 31-26 and got to the FT line 9 more times. That is two things you can count on. Northeaster a team that started 9-1 in their Colonial Conference finished 3-5 and overall it was a disappointing year that fell to the ground. Now they have 4 starters back and Providence has lost a lot, but they have their star point guard in Sheraud Curry back to go with two solid scorers in Brooks in the back court 18.8ppg 5.3 rpg this year and Peterson and Dixon in the front court. Dixon 7.8ppg/7.3rpg and Peterson who was dominant @ Alabama 27ppg and 14rpg. Peterson is averaging 16.3 and 10.5 rpg this year. Providence has a +8 rebound margin on the season while Northeastern is even. Providence has played solid defense thus far 39.7FG% and 24.53P%. This is an uptempo offense that won't shoot as poor as they did a year ago and they may defend better. Northeastern simply can't keep up with an uptempo offense that will put up 80 points here tonight.
