I don't normally like spreads this large for a favorite however this is one of those games that is pretty easy to handicap because of Texas Tech's style of play. Arizona State features the third best pass rush as far as sack % goes and Tech is only 47th in sacked % and they only faced 3 top 50 pass defenses. When they faced TCU, Oklahoma and Texas they only scored 20, 30 and 16 points all season lows. Arizona State's pass defense is also ball hawking coming up with 21 interceptions and is +14 in turnover margin compared with Tech who is -13 so there will be opportunities for them to win in short field positions. They also faced three teams that were pass happy as far as passing more than they throw and those were Colorado, Oregon State and Washington State and they won each of those games holding the trio to 13, 21, and 17 points. I don't see Texas Tech putting up more than 21 points here and that leaves us a great chance for a cover because...

Unlike what you may think they key to stopping Arizona State is actually stopping the run. When they averaged over 4 yards per carry they were able to put up an average of 52.4 points in 5 games with the low of 38 coming against UCLA and Texas Tech is not even close to the talent level that UCLA has. On the flip side Texas Tech allowed over 4 yards per carry in all of their last 6 games and over 250 yards rushing in their last 5 where they allowed on average of 48.6 points. I see Arizona State being able to put up 45-56 points here in a blow out win.
