Very close to making this game my POD, but decided to go with another game! I'm still loving it and that is why it is a 3 Dime selection! This line opened up at -130 Angels after they swept the Royals yesterday in the double header. I can understand the line here especially since Saunders who has struggled has a solid history vs. the Royals. However, the line moved off that number down to -109 where it sits now despite 75% of the money being right on the Angels. I would not play the Angels here today and here is why.

This line tells me something about Brian Bannister who has pitched well 2.41ERA last 3. He's got a 3.10 ERA at home and the Angels have only faced him once! Now what public is going to look at is the fact that Bannister got hit hard 6.2 IP 5ER on 13H, but what I know is that 3 key players from that game won't even be playing in this game. Garret Anderson responsible for all of those RBI's is now with the Braves as he was 3-5 5RBI here, and Tori Hunter 2-5, Vlad Guerero 2-5 both on the 15-DL. Also questionable is Juan Rivera here today who has been solid for the Angels. I think this is why you see the line going the other way Vegas expecting a solid start out of Bannister and I concur with this.

I'll go over Saunders either way cause he has struggled as of late, but he's got one of the worst hitting lineups against LHP today so he should pitch well enough to keep it under the total. He's got 2 career starts vs. KC going 16 IP 12H 14K and 1ER. KC vs. LHP last 10 .244 average 1.95 runs per 9 innings. It gets worse over their last 5! The under is 10-1-1 in the Royals last 12 games vs. LH starter so you know they can not hit in this spot and a bit tired off the double header I'm going with the under.
