I’m going with the A’s in this spot as they have an advantage being a solid home team as the Reds continue to struggle to score runs after getting swept by the Mariners over the weekend.
 
Gio Gonzalez will get the home start for the A’s and all he’s done at home has is 4-2 with a 2.90 ERA.  Gonzalez like his counterpart (Mike Leake) has struggled over his last three starts posting a 6.23 ERA.  I believe he bounces back here as the Reds have scored just 2.81 runs per 9 vs. LHP over their last 10 games combined.  On the road vs. LHP this year they have just 3.89 runs per 9 while the A’s at home have down well against RHP with a .276 average and 4.80 runs per 9.
 
The Reds are just 8-22 in their last 30 inter league road starts vs. a LH starter.  3-13 in their last 16 overall road starts vs. a lefty.  A’s on the other hand are 12-3 in their last 15 as a home favorite between -110 and -150, and 7-0 in Gonzalez’s last 7 starts as a favorite.  Leake has struggled against West Coast opponents and now he’s got to go pitch on the West coast in a late game.
