The Reds are a solid hitting team that will face a rookie pitcher for the third time this year at home where they are 16-5 in their last 21 vs. LH starters. I think it's time for Garcia's season to take a bit of a sturn. He's got a 4.00 Era in his last 3 starts, and his numbers vs. the Reds are not outstanding as he's allowed 16 base runners in 12.1 IP while giving up 4 ER. Red at home are hitting .278 with 5.11 runs per 9 vs. LHP while the Cardinals are hitting .253 with 3.88 runs per 9 vs. RHP which they will face on Tuesday.

Johny Cueto who will be looking for a bounce back against the Cardinals gave up 8 ER over 5 IP @ STL earlier this year. In his previous 5 starts vs. the Cardinals he gave up 7 ER over 26.1 IP for an ERA of 2.39. I expect him to pitch better as he's been outstanding as of late. The Reds are 13-5 in his last 18 starts while the Cardinals just 9-20 in their last 29 road games vs. a RH starter.

Last night we were on the Cardinals as I figured Carpenter would go deep into the game and the Cards would hit off rookie Mike Leake. That happened and again tonight we fade a rookie pitcher with success this season and are backing a veteran. Reds get even in the series.

Mets have been awful and although Pelfrey's last three starts are not as bad as some of his early ones he has yet to be able to go deep into the game. His control is all over the place and he continues to allow first inning runs that have hurt his confidence. Jimenez has been off the charts all season long and looks to close the year on a strnog note to win the CY Yound over Josh Johnson.
