It appears vegas is expecting a quality performance from Niese as the line has dropped, and mainly because the Braves are struggling and they struggle vs. lefties, but I think the Braves have a major advantage in the pitching match up as Hanson just owns the Mets giving up just 2 ER over 24.2 IP in 4 starts in his career. Hanson is currently pitching his best with a 1.80 ERA over his last 3 starts and the Mets who have started to hit have done it mostly against lefties and not righties as they have a .225 average and 3.27 runs per 9 vs. RHP in their last 10 games overall. Niese has a 5.60 ERA in cluding 10 hits that he gave up in his last start against Atlanta. Niese has been a solid pitcher particularly at home, but he has started to lose control and the WHIP is way up as of late. He's not used to pitching this many inings and the Mets won't likely stretch him regardless if the game is close or not resulting in the Mets bullpen advantage Atlanta.
