Take A's @ -102 3-Dime LNF play
These Late night plays have been kind to us for two months now as we are 71% winners on LNF plays which are any plays out on the west coast that are not our POD's. Tonight I'm going with the A's for a few reasons but the main reason is Brett Anderson.
Anderson who has the 4.54 ERA on the road has pitched very impressively on the road as of late as the A's are 5-1 in his last 6 road starts. So who has Anderson started against as of late on the road that he has a 2.88 ERA?? I bet you would not be able to guess who. You are probably thinking it is opponents like the Mariners who by the way are 3-7 at home vs. LH starters as of late. No Anderson has faced Boston twice, TB, NYY, and the Royals. Four of the 5 are playoff contenders because of their offense and Anderson went in and has a 2.88 ERA to show for it. Now he faces one of the worst hitting teams against LHP. The Mariners are no good at .247 avg and 3.38 R/9 at home vs. LHP. That's -.19pts and -.75 R/9 less than their averages at home vs. RHP. What's even better is Anderson does not have to face Ichiro tonight who is doubtful. Ichiro is 3-3 against Anderson. Anderson is backed by an Oakland bullpen of 2.97 ERA in their last 10 games.
R.R. Smith will make the start for Seattle and I'm just way more confident in Anderson shutting down the Mariners than I am in Smith's ability to shutout the A's. He has a start against the A's and he did not even get to the 5th inning despite not allowing run his final line was 3.1 IP 4H and 4BB 0ER. I don't think he will be as fortunate here tonight. Worth noting is the line that opened with 61% of the public at -133 and the line has dropped to -106 so I see great value on the A's here tonight.
