Syracuse -5.5 -4Dime POD
No doubt this Georgetown team has been quite impressive this year and Monroe will be a Big East player of the year candidate, but Syracuse is the #1 team in the conference this year and there is no doubt in my mind. They will be at home here and the Hoyas are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 @ Syracuse. In conference play the Orangemen are giving up just 38.7% from the field while Georgetwon is giving up 42.1% from the field. That will be the difference here tonight. This will be the best defense Georgetown will face and Monroe will have his hands filled going up against Onauku who is 14 pounds heavier than Monroe and Jackson who is also a big body down low. I don't really see a guy on Georgetwon that can go up against Syracuse' Wesley Johnson 6'7 205lbs. He's averaging 17.3ppg and 9.1 rebounds per game.
He is very consistent and will be a guy that the Hoyas will have troubles with, because I don't think they have a guy close to his height to match up. This Syracuse team is a team that can shoot inside and out and has shot well from the FT line at least in conference play. Syracuse is grabbing 4.6 more rebounds than their opponents and they out weight and are taller than Georgetown who has a +0.3 rebound margin in conference play. The biggest difference there is Gerogetown is only grabbing 6.9 offensive rebounds while Syracuse grabs 12 a game.
Cuse 12-3 ATS in their last 15 vs. Big East while Georgetown is 7-19 ATS in their last 26. While I don't think this will be a blow out I think Syracuse will slide through late in the game because Georgetown will have a lot of troubles scoring against this defense.
