3.5 Dime NCAAB POD & 2.5 Dime Bonus ~All at 7:00pm Guarantee
As the conference tournament nears we have many teams on the bubble and many teams that don't want to see these teams again. Tonight we have a total of 4 teams that could be in or out of the tournament in a month from now. You will get two huge match ups coming at 7:05pm guaranteed to go 2-0 or you play for FREE on Wednesday!
Florida -3 @ BODOG(3.5 Dime POD)
Florida is my POD of tonight. This will be a huge game for Florida against a ranked opponent on their home court. It will be Sr. night and Vanderbilt is one of the hottest conference teams even after a tough loss to Kentucky. They are 5-2 on the road in the conference, but Florida is 6-1 at home against the conference and I think they go 7-1 tonight.
Vanderbilt has already clinched the bye in the SEC tournament and is coming off a huge road win already, the last time they had back to back road games in the SEC they lost the 2nd one by 13 points. Florida will be on revenge although they played extremely well the first time shooting over 50% from the field and 48.1% from three they lost as they were -12 FTA and -6 TO's. I think the rebounding advantage particularly on the offensive end is huge for Florida here tonight as they are +4.8 overall and +2.5 offensive while Vandy is -2.1 and -2.2 offensive. I don't anticipate Florida shooting terrible from the fT line again as they are 70.4% from the line with +8.6 attempts at home. While they are +2.9 in turnover margin.
Expect defense to be at a premium so Vanderbilt's shooting of 50% will not happen again tonight. Florida is giving up 40% on the year at home and just 30% from down town. Vandy is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in Florida and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 following an ATS win.
Marshall -2 (2.5 Bonus)
Marshall is the other situation of a home team playing a ranked team with great importance on Sr. night and I'm going with it. marshall has been solid all year long and are 15-2 at home losing to just Memphis and UAB by 5 points combined. Those are the two teams that trail UTEP by 2 games a piece in the C-USA as UTEP has already clinched at least a tie of the Conference and will be headed to the NCAA tournament. So the question is what do they have left to play for?
Marshall on the other hand has a lot to play for and a Sr. led team by Chris Lutz who really want to make it to the NCAA tournament. A win here could really help support their chances and lucky for them UTEP is not actually coming into this game with great play as they turned the ball over 21 times in their last game. Over the course of the last 5 games both teams have been on the road 3 games and at home for two, and Marshall has been better defensively and more physicall out rebounding opp by more and getting to the FT line nearly 10 times more. These are all ingredients they'll need to pull off a home win over a ranked team for the first time since 1997.
Marshall went over as a favorite in their last game and is now playing a conference opponent as a favorite between pk-2.5 points. When teams fall into that situation they are 28-11-2 ATS with a margin of victory of 5.2 points. I think this will be a low scoring game and I think the edge will come at the FT line where Marshall is considerably better. The shot UTEP has at this game on the road is winning the turnover battle, but judging by the last game that may be hard to do. Look for Freshmen Hassan Whiteside a big NBA prospect to continue his dominance with a season leading 159 blocks for Marshall.
