3** NFL Wild Card Game #2 #49ers vs. #Packers
We rebounded nicely last night after the horrible start to the day when the Chiefs decided to blow a 28 point lead in the second half, but the Saints bailed us out as we picked them to win in the cold. Sunday's game #2 between the Packers and 49ers is another one we like so make sure you don't miss out backed by a full in depth analysis.
Packers +140 3* Play
I'll take the only home dog of the Wild Card round to win outright today. This is a classic match up in the classic cold of Lambeau Field and I think it will give the Packers a tremendous advantage. When you look at the West Coast boys of San Fran who come out of mostly warmer weather including their QB. When you look at their schedule they have not had a game in the cold all year. Washington in late November was pretty warm and there other games are in mostly warm weather climates or domes having to face Tampa, Jacksonville, Arizona, then at St. Louis and at New Orleans. Normally I do not put much stock in the weather, but I have to think it's an advantage for the home team.
This is also a classic match up because on paper it's a top 10 offense vs. a top 10 defense. The Packers are top 10 in rushing and passing while the 49ers are top 10 in defending both. However, when you look at the 49ers schedule they have not faced a single team other than the Packers in week 1 that have a balanced offense. Seattle can pass, but they don't do it often, New Orleans can throw, but they don't run the ball a lot. The 49ers are going to have to stop a beast in Eddy Lacy and if they don't Rodgers will carve them up. I really underestimated Rodgers last week when I took the Bears as my POD. I was surprised how he was not rusty at all, but I think that has mostly to do with him throwing through the injury. The guy was able to throw they just did not want him taking a hit so it seemed as though he stayed in shape and that should benefit him today. It's hard to beat any NFL franchise 4 times in a row and I think it's the Packers turn to defeat the 49ers here after losing 3 straight. It took an all world game in week 1 for Kaepernick to get by the Packers 34-28 as he had 412 passing yards 3 TD and 0 INT. That does not happen again here in the cold.
