I like Nevada here at home under the bright lights.  Cal has looked great the first two weeks, but let’s be honest against who?  Nevada is a big time step up game for them and mostly because QB Colin Kaepernick has been great.  He’s a 4 year starter and a dark horse for the Heisman Trophy.  I really like him to give the Cal defense some issues.  Cal has had problems before going on the road when ranked.  I think they’ll have problems here too like they had against multi-dimensional QB’s in 2009.  In road games vs. the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies they faced two multi-dimensional QB’s in Massoli and Locker who won 84-13 combined.  Now Cal should be able to score, but this Nevada defense is improving and has 12 sacks on the season.  Riley is still unproven and I don’t trust him in a big spot on the road where it will be Nevada’s biggest game in years. The pistol offense will give Cal fits and if they try to play Kaepernick they give up room to one of the best backs in the country in Vai Taua a 5-10 220lb back. 
 
Nevada has also improved on special teams with Juco transfer Rishard Mathews.  He is averaging 11 yards per return as opposed to the 3ypg that Nevada average a year ago.  Not a huge aspect of the game, but he can take it back as he led the nation in punt returns a year ago in juco.
