Georgia Tech +3 (3.3 Dime Prime Time Event)
I like Georgia Tech for a few reasons mainly they are more athletic and bigger than Air Force.  And second Paul Johnson is a good coach.  He’s lost his prior bowl games and Georgia Tech has already lost 5 in a row in bowl games.  This mainly has to do with the teams they have faced and now they get an Air Force team Paul Johnson knows he can beat.  He beat them every time when he coached for navy 2002-2007 with the exception of 2002.  He knows the option offense because Georgia Tech runs it themselves.
 
After coaching I look to who has the better run defense and both are nothing special but Georgia Tech is a little bit better statistically and Air Force has under sized on defense and did not show a single time that they can stop teams with good running games.  They faced three top 10 teams in navy, TCU, and Army.  They gave up a combined 826 yards rushing in those games on 149 carries for a 5.5 yards per carry average.  Despite the injuries and suspensions in first half that Georgia Tech has I believe by the end of the game they’ll take advantage.  I expect Tevin Washington to have a huge game and look for Orwin Smith to take a few to the house out of the option as he’s averaging 10 yards per carry.  Anthony Allen will do the dirty work up the middle and should get plenty of yardage vs. Air Force as well.  Air Force is also 112th nationally in 3rd down stops which is not what you need when you go to face an option offense that tries to dominate time of possession.
 
At the end of the day I think Georgia Tech’s defense will have more success.
