I have played this team three times this season and feel I have a good understanding of what they are doing. I have played them once as a max unit play and it won easily as it never lost the cover the entire game. Bobby Petrino has always been known as a offensive genius, but his defense has been outstanding this season. This defense ranks 11 against the pass and 31st overall. South Carolina strong suit has been their pass attack, but Arkansas and their pass defense has been stellar holding Jerrod Johnson to 15/40 for 210 yards, McElroy to under 200 yards, and Murray to 250 yards with most coming in the 4th quarter. Arkansas has outgained 8 of its 9 opponents and I expect it to happen again even without Childs. One thing about Mallet is it doesn’t matter who he is throwing to as he has six receivers with 15+ catches. The one thing that has helped this team as they have started running the ball with Knile Davis. He has had four straight games of 80+ yards on the ground, something Mallet didn’t have the first half of the year, which has helped his play action pass. Arkansas strong suit is against South Carolina’s weakness also ranking 2nd against the pass defense of 105. South Carolina also has a look ahead of the SEC EAST being up for grabs next week against Florida, while Arkansas will be ready and look to continue their pursuit to double digit wins.
