Hot and Cold Starters 7/9/11

Postby Freddy Wills » Fri Jul 08, 2011 10:00 pm

We are 3-0 with the Red Sox pending with a 9-3 lead to go 4-0 in our last 4 articles so don't miss out on what is below. We have a total of nine hot pitchers and just three cold pitchers over their last 3 starts combined. Our have been on fire 10-1 Last 11 before Friday night (games pending). Don't miss out on all the action this weekend we have some special packages check out any of our handicapper experts discount packages: ||

Braves +146 (1* FREE PLAY) Value all the way here. Tommy Hanson who has a 2.52 ERA on the season is snubbed for the All Star game and he goes up against the almighty Cliff Lee. I think Hanson really comes out and shows he was very deserving of an All Star appearance. His last 3 starts vs. the Braves have resulted in a minimal one earned run and a 0.51 ERA. Yes that is earned run average not WHIP. So why can't he stick in the game hand it over to the #1 bullpen in the league in creep by with a 1-0 victory or more? After all the Phillies bullpen has been sub par of late 6.33 over their last 10 games and both teams not just the Phillies have played well during day games. If anything Lee pitches worse in day games.

Cliff Lee has a 3.03 ERA during day games over 2008-2010 and a 14-9 record which is very beatable when you have a guy like Hanson going up against him. Philly has just a .227 average and .674 OPS VS. Hanson and guess what the Braves have hit Lee hard this year. Lee also is coming off a 6 ER performance after three straight complete game shutouts the guy is human after all. I remember a similar streak when he was traded to the Rangers a year ago so he is a streaky type guy in terms of his bad starts they usually come in bunches and all we need him to do is last 8 innings and give up 2 or 3 ER. He's given up 19 hits in 10.1 IP and 9 ER in two starts vs. the Braves this year so I think the +146 is good value the Braves keep winning.

Other Hot Starters L3 Starts:
Tommy Hanson (3-0, 20 IP, 0.95 WHIP, 2.25 ERA)
Brian Duensing (2-1, 20.2 IP, 1.26 WHIP, 2.18 ERA)
Johny Cueto (1-2, 22.2 IP, 0.84 WHIP, 1.99 ERA)
Ricky Nolasco 1-2, 23 IP, 0.91 WHIP, 1.57 ERA)
Michael Pineda (1-2, 19.1 IP, 0.93 WHIP, 2.33 ERA)
Colby Lewis (2-1 20.2 IP, 0.87 WHIP, 2.18 ERA)
Chris Carpenter (3-0, 24 IP, 0.88 WHIP, 0.75 ERA)
Tim Lincecum (1-2, 19 IP, 1.05 WHIP, 1.89 ERA)

Well like yesterday in the cold starter front we will back another Brewer in Shawn Marcum who is 0-3 with a 6.43 ERA over his last three starts in 14 innings pitched with a 1.43 WHIP. After all the success early we have to feel confident Marcum is going to turn this bad stretch into a good one. After all the Brewers have the best home record in baseball and they go up against Johny Cueto who gave up 8 ER in less than 2 innings pitched last time he was here. Now Cueto is red hot this year, but again just as we saw Cliff Lee who was pitching at the top of his game come back to earth. All these guys are human and I expect Cueto to come down and Marcum to go up at some point.

Other Cold Starters L3 Starts:
John Lackey (0-3, 13.1 IP, 1.95 WHIP, 9.45 ERA)
Luke Hochevar (2-1, 17 IP, 1.59 WHIP, 6.88 ERA)

Can't wait for and more ... Also get more !
