**FREE PICK** Wednesday's Hot & Cold Starters | 7/27/11

A lot is going on with the NFL lockout ending and we will be ready for advice this fall coming soon. However, we continue to concentrate on our free and we get right back at it on Wednesday with another future winner in our minds. Don't miss out as we have discounted our MLB season end package to just $299 guaranteed or 1 month free.

Tigers +110 (3* FREE PLAY) One of our larger free mlb this year, but we love this match up for Max Scherzer and the Tigers. Scherzer has really turned the corner and pitched how he is capable of late with a 1.66 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over his last 3 starts and now he faces a White Sox line up that has struggled in their career against him. They have a cumulative 144 AB with just a .222 average and .662 OPS vs. Scherzer while John Danks, White Sox starter, has been roughed up of late vs. Detroit who just continues to kill lefties and have 192 AB vs. Danks with a .302 average and .858 OPS. Scherzer has always pitched will in mid summer and has a 2.71 ERA during 10 July starts over the last three years. He also had a 3.23 ERA during day starts over that period.

Before I get to Danks did I mention Scherzer has a 0.79 WHIP and 1.50 ERA over his last 3 starts vs. the White Sox while Danks has a5.89 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over his last 3 starts, all losses, vs. the Tigers. Tigers are 5-1 in their last 6 road games vs. a LH starter and they are #6 in the league in hitting during day games and are 25-14 during day games and #7 in OPS vs. LHP sporting 5.15 runs per 9 innings on the road vs. LHP. Danks is just 7-19 in his last 26 starts vs. the AL Central, but more importantly he's struggled against the really good left handed clubs. Over his last 10 starts he's faced 3 teams in the top 5 in OPS vs. LHP and has a 7.36 ERA and 1.69 WHIP during those starts. I expect him to struggle yet again vs. the Tigers as the Tigers continue to stay hot 43-21 in their last 64 vs. AL Central.

Other Hot Starters L3 Starts:
John Danks - (2-1, 15.2 IP, 0.83 WHIP, 0.57 ERA)
John Lackey (3-0, 19.1 IP, 1.19 WHIP, 1.86 ERA)
Colby Lewis (3-0, 21.1 IP, 0.84 WHIP, 2.11 ERA)
Ian Kennedy (3-0, 20 IP, 1.10 WHIP, 2.25 ERA)
Zach Greinke (2-1, 19 IP, 1.05 WHIP, 1.89 ERA)

Cold starter with the best chance to win has got to be Ricky Romero who has a 7.02 ERA over his last three starts along with a 1.80 WHIP, but is still at -175 odds to win on Wednesday. You may be asking why? Well Romero who has a 3.20 ERA in his home starts has had the unfortunate task of facing the Yankees and the Red Sox over his last three starts. He's also had a lot of success vs. the Orioles over his last 6 starts with a 2.43 ERA and the Orioles will start a lefty of their own and guess what the Blue Jays are the #2 OPS team vs. LHP with an .820.

Other Cold Starters L3 Starts:
Livan Hernandez (0-3, 15.2 IP, 1.72 WHIP, 6.32 ERA)
Phil Hughes (2-1, 15.1 IP, 1.76 WHIP, 6.46 ERA)
Brian Duensing (1-2, 18 IP, 1.28 WHIP, 6.00 ERA)
Trevor Cahill (0-3, 16.2 IP, 1.68 WHIP, 8.10 ERA)
Aaron Cook (1-2, 15.2 IP, 2.04 WHIP, 8.04 ERA)
Carlos Zambrano (2-1, 11.2 IP, 2.14 WHIP, 7.71 ERA)
