Sports Betting – A Diverse Group Of Matchups For Tuesday

Postby Freddy Wills » Mon Jun 27, 2011 4:29 pm

The diversity continues from on Monday night, right into Tuesday as baseball betting will have to share the spotlight with wagering from the women’s World Cup, along with some tennis betting as Wimbledon is starting to get serious.

MLB Betting

Brewers Yankees Betting (7:05 PM ET): The Brewers will go with Zack Greinke, who bypassed the Yankees last summer to go to Milwaukee, while New York counters with the consistent Freddy Garcia, who isn’t as talented as Greinke, but he’s been steady in the face of injuries for the Bronx Bombers.

Red Sox Phillies Betting (7:05 PM ET): In a possible World Series preview, players will get a massive matchup as Josh Beckett returns from the disabled list to take on Philadelphia’s Cliff Lee, who overlooked Boston to go back to the Phillies.

Reds Rays Betting (7:10 PM ET): Cincinnati’s Johnny Cueto has been on fire this season, and he takes his show on the road to Tampa Bay, where he will go up against David Price, who can either be spectacularly good, or just the opposite.

Giants Cubs Betting (2:20 PM ET; 8:05 PM ET): These National League clubs clash in a doubleheader at Wrigley Field, starting with San Francisco’s Ryan Vogelsong facing Chicago’s Doug Davis in the early game. In the nightcap, the Giants welcome Barry Zito back to the lineup after missing two months, while the Cubs counter with Rodrigo Lopez.

Braves Mariners Betting (10:10 PM ET): While everyone looks at the first two pitching matchups, this could be the best one of the day as 24-year-old Tommy Hanson comes off the disabled list for the Braves, while the Mariners give the ball to 22-year-old Michael Pineda.

Soccer Betting

Colombia Sweden Betting (8:45 AM ET): Sweden is a huge -375 favorite in Germany in their women’s World Cup opener against Colombia, who are listed at +575, and a draw comes in at +410.

United States North Korea Betting (11:45 AM ET): The Americans are favored at -250, while North Korea is listed at +450, and a draw is rated at +285. This match will be noted for the political overtones that will undoubtedly be the focus of the build-up.

Tennis Betting

Wimbledon Betting (9:00 AM ET): The oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament of all the Grand Slams is heading into the quarterfinals of both draws, so expect a full slate of matchups. Two former Wimbledon champion will not be in action on the women’s side, as well as the No.1 ranked player, as Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Carolina Wozniacki are all gone, which means picking a female winner is now wide open for players.
