Sports Betting – Golf Is In the Spotlight On Thurs

While betting players are watching the wire to see if their favorite team is making any moves this summer, most sports betting players are focusing on the sports you can wager on now. Baseball and golf will step up on Thursday as we head towards the weekend, and here is a look at the matchups on your slate.

MLB Betting

Cardinals Mets Odds (12:10 PM ET): These National League combatants open the day in Queens, where the Mets will send out Jonathon Niese in search of his 10th win of the season, while the Cardinals counter with Jake Westbrook, who isn’t pitching as well as his record indicates.

Mariners Blue Jays Odds (12:37 PM ET): All-Star Ricky Romero will get the call for the Blue Jays in this afternoon matinee in Toronto, while the Mariners go with Doug Fister, who has been constantly let down by a lack of run support by Seattle’s anemic offense.

Braves Rockies Odds (3:10 PM ET): Many players shook their heads when Atlanta’s Tommy Hanson didn’t make the All-Star team, and he didn’t have a good outing in his first start after the break. Hanson will head to Coors Field (a hitter’s park) to take on Jhoulys Chacin, who hasn’t won in five starts.

Rangers Angels Odds (3:35 PM ET): In a meeting of All-Star pitchers, the red-hot Rangers will send out C.J. Wilson to take on Jered Weaver, who started the game for the American League and he needs to keep the Angels within shouting distance of Texas.

Yankees Rays Odds (7:10 PM ET): Two more All-Stars will be on the mound, although neither pitched in the game as the Yankees send out C.C. Sabathia to face James Shields in Tampa Bay.
Tigers Twins Odds (8:10 PM ET): It’s All-Star pitcher day on Thursday, as the Tigers’ Justin Verlander gets the call to face Carl Pavano, and you shouldn’t need a to tell you that Detroit will be favored on the road.

Brewers Diamondbacks Odds (9:40 PM ET): Finally, the inconsistent Zach Greinke will be on the mound for the Brewers as they are in the desert to wrap up a series with the Diamondbacks, who will give the ball to Ian Kennedy, another big All-Star snub.

Golf Betting

Canadian Open Odds (10:00 AM ET): The Canadian Open tees off in Vancouver for the first time since 2005, and the fun starts at 10:40 AM ET, when Anthony Kim, Rickie Fowler and 2009 U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover go off from No.1, while later in the day at 3:50 PM ET, world No.1 Luke Donald of England and the steady Matt Kuchar will be paired with 2003 Masters champion and Canadian hero Mike Weir, who won’t get much attention at most .
