Betting News: Red Sox Come Back To Beat Yankees; Steal Series

Just when it seemed like the New York Yankees had finally solved the Boston Red Sox and were due to take over sole possession of first place in the American League East, things got away from them. Leading 2-1 in the ninth with closer Mariano Rivera on the mound, the Yankees ended up losing in ten after Boston’s Josh Reddick singled home the winning run. The loss ultimately cost them a defeat in the three-game set, and more importantly New York fell a game behind in the AL East division race. With less than two months to go in the regular season the Yankees have to be lacking confidence when it comes to their opportunities to put away a team they will likely have to beat to get to the World Series, and how last night’s loss affects their play the remainder of the way will be an interesting storyline to follow.

Golf News: Williams Calls Scott’s Victory Most Satisfying Of Career

Despite caddying for former world No. 1 Tiger Woods for every one of his major wins, Steve Williams admitted to reporters on Sunday that Adam Scott’s win at the WGC-Bridgestone was the most satisfying of his career. The tournament was Williams’ first since being dismissed by Woods earlier this month, and after remaining quiet up until this point the 47-year old Williams took the opportunity to speak out about his dismissal. Woods showed flashes but was inconsistent in the tournament and finished 37th, while Scott secured his first win of the season with his new caddy helping him along.

News: Cardinals’ Safety Wilson Has Torn Biceps Muscle; Will Play

The Arizona Cardinals learned that Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson has a torn muscle in his biceps that could require surgery, but despite the injury is prepared to play anyway this season. Wilson is seeking a second opinion on the injury, which would require season-ending surgery to fix, but after his initial appointment remained focused on playing and said that unless he was physically unable to go he would be in the lineup.

NASCAR News: Keselowski Overcomes Broken Ankle; Wins At Pocono

Despite a broken left ankle that swelled up to triple the normal size, Brad Keselowski managed to overcome the rest of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series field and win Sunday’s race at Pocono Raceway, finishing with the best time in the 500-mile race. Keselowski victory moved him into the perfect position to clinch one of the two Wild Card spots that are available in the Chase standings, as he is the only one in the field of eligible contenders that has two wins on the season. Things are only heating up with five races left to go in the season, and it will be interesting to see how the field reacts with next week’s race at Glen Watkins.
