Golf News: Bradley Rallies To Win PGA Championship In Playoff

Despite reaching the final three holes five strokes back of leader Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley managed to rally and force a playoff in Sunday’s final round of the PGA Championship before winning the event. The 25-year old PGA Tour rookie managed to rally after triple-bogeyingon the 15th hole after sending his ball into the water, as he proved resilient while his main opponent Dufner fell apart. Bradley ended a skid of six straight majors without a winner for the USA, and became the first player in 100 years to win a major on his first try. All of this came after Tiger Woods failed to make the cut, and tournament favorite Rory McIlroy struggled to finish 64th with an injured wrist.

News: Uggla’s Hit Streak Comes To An End In Loss To Cubs

Atlanta Braves’ second basemen Dan Uggla had his 33-game hit streak stopped in a 6-5 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, the end of the longest win streak in the majors in five years. Uggla was 0-for-3 but did manage to register an RBI, although it wasn’t enough as the Cubs rallied from four runs down to secure their 11th win in 14 games. The loss not only hurt Uggla, but the Braves as well as they try and close the nine-game gap between them and the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East. Two games were rained out on Sunday, with the most notable being the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins.

Soccer News: United Wins, Chelsea Fails For First Time In A Decade

The English Premier League season continued on Sunday with two of the top contenders for the title in action, as defending champions Manchester United opened with a win over West Bromwich, while Chelsea settled for a draw against Stoke City. United got on the board with Wayne Rooney’s first of the season, and prevailed on an own goal late in the second half that made it 2-1. Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Andres Villas-Boas failed to secure the victory in his first EPL match, watching as Fernando Torres and company struggled to find the goal in a 0-0 draw at Stoke City. That result marked the first time in a decade that Chelsea has failed to win their opener.

News: Lytle Ends His Career In Style With Win At UFC Live 5

UFC veteran Chris Lytle ended his MMA career in style at the UFC Live 5 pay per view event on Sunday, submitting Dan Hardy in the third and final round of their match to clinch the final victory of his career. Hardy looked dangerous standing but once Lytle got him to the ground in the third round, he was able to gain control and lock in the submission to end the match. Other winners from the night include Ben Henderson over Jim Miller, Donald Cerrone over Charles Oliveira, and Duane Ludwig over Amir Sadollah.
