Sports Betting – A Preview Of Thursday’s Betting Ticket

Postby Freddy Wills » Wed Oct 26, 2011 5:18 pm

may be the highlight of the night on Thursday’s betting slate as Game 7 of the World Series is scheduled, but with Game 6 being held on Wednesday, the Fall Classic may not make it that far. If that is off the table, college football and hockey is on the menu for sports betting players.

World Series Betting

Rangers Cardinals Odds (8:05 PM ET): Again, check your sportsbook to check the availability for this game and you may even be getting Game 6 on Thursday; there is a solid chance of rain in St. Louis on Wednesday night, which may postpone Game 6 until then, which would push Game 7 back a day.

College Football Betting

Rice Houston Odds (8:00 PM ET): odds have the No.17 Cougars as a 27.5-point favorite at home and all eyes will be on Houston pivot Case Keenum, who set the FBS record for total offense and leads a unit that is tops in the NCAA in passing and points scored.

Virginia Miami Odds (8:00 PM ET): The Hurricanes are 13.5-point favorites at home against the Cavaliers in this ACC affair, and even though both teams are out of the running for the conference title, they can inch towards bowl eligibility with a victory.

NHL Betting

Canadiens Bruins Odds (7:00 PM ET): odds will probably favor Boston at home in their first meeting of the season with their bitter rivals from Montreal, who fell in seven games in the playoffs last year to the eventual Stanley Cup champions.

Maple Leafs Rangers Odds (7:00 PM ET): The surprising Maple Leafs should be the underdogs in New York, who managed to sign Brad Richards during the offseason. Richards was the center that everyone thought would end up next to Toronto sniper Phil Kessel, who leads the NHL in scoring currently.

Kings Stars Odds (8:30 PM ET): The Stars are another surprise as they lead the Pacific division as of Wednesday, three points ahead of the Kings, who will be the underdogs in Dallas. Los Angeles’ offense has gotten off to a poor start, but goalie Jonathan Quick has been spectacular to start the season. Dallas knew their offense wasn’t going to be great after Richards left, and they’re fourth in goals allowed, three spots behind No.1 Los Angeles.

Capitals Oilers Odds (9:30 PM ET): Finally, Washington will be favored on the road in Edmonton in what should be an exciting game between two teams that like to get up and down the ice. The Capitals are 7-0-0 to start the season, while the Oilers have some of the best young talent in the game, and they’re going to be a force in the future.
