Betting News: Tebow Does It Again; Cowboys Too

When the Denver Broncos punted the football late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, already trailing by 14 in the final frame, it appeared as though the critics of Tim Tebow were right after all. Finally tasked with facing an elite defense, for a team that was still in playoff contention, Tebow had failed to get his Broncos in the lead, at least for the first 50 minutes of play. Then, it happened again. Tebow began hitting his targets, and after a couple of key mistakes by Bears’ running back Marion Barber late in the fourth and overtime, Tebow and the Broncos won the game. Tebow finished with 21 completions on 40 attempts for a season-high 236 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 49 yards more. Matt Prater hit two field goals of more than 50 yards, and Denver padded its lead in the AFC West after the Oakland Raiders were blown away by the undefeated Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys experienced their own odd sense of Déjà vu, though they didn’t wind up feeling the same elation as the Broncos. The Cowboys allowed the New York Giants to score two touchdowns in a span of less than two minutes late in the fourth quarter to concede the lead, and after hitting his first try after a Giants’ timeout to ice him, Dallas kicker Dan Bailey missed his second attempt in a final chance to tie the game.

NHL News: Crosby Out Indefinitely With Concussion Symptoms Once Again

Pittsburgh Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby has been downgraded to out indefinitely following the reoccurrence of concussion-like symptoms. After missing the past two games following a brief return due to what the team called an “upper-body injury”, Crosby noticed the same symptoms that he had experienced previously begin to creep up during workouts, and made the decision to sit with no timetable for his return.

NCAAB News: Orange Climb To No. 1; Wildcats Falter

While an Ohio prosecutor continued to mull over a decision on whether to lay charges on players following the brawl in the Cincinnati-Xavier game from this past week, it took away from the focus of Syracuse being voted as nearly a unanimous No. 1. Head coach Jim Boeheim and his squad has battled through the controversy that has plagued their program to gain 28 of a possible 30 first place votes after climbing to 10-0, while former No. 1 Kentucky dropped two spots to No. 3 following its first loss of the season.

NBA News: Paul Likely On The Move To Los Angeles After All

It turns out that Chris Paul could be on his way to Hollywood after all, only not with the Los Angeles Lakers. The New Orleans Hornets are seeking approval on a deal that would send Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, and Minnesota’s unprotected 2012 first round pick. The league reportedly would like the Clippers to add Eric Bledsoe to that package, and it will be interesting to see what comes of the potential deal after the NBA nixed a trade with the Lakers last week.
