While fans are used to watching their team play on Saturday nights, the NHL All-Star game has cleared the schedule for this weekend, but they have a lot of other options, such as hoops action from the professional and college ranks, a free UFC card on Fox and the action starts early with the women’s final of the Australian Open.
NBA Betting
Pistons 76ers Odds (7:00 PM ET): A good would tell you that Philadelphia have been the surprises of the season, and they’ll look to continue that on Saturday when they host a Detroit team that is struggling mightily as of late.
Knicks Rockets Odds (8:00 PM ET): New York has been a huge disappointment, and they’ll try to turn it around in Houston against the Rockets, who have been fantastic at home this season.
College Basketball Odds
Mississippi State Florida Odds (1:30 PM ET): The No.14 Gators should be favored at home against the No.18 Bulldogs in a huge SEC matchup as everyone is trying to keep up with Kentucky in the conference.
Kentucky LSU Odds (4:00 PM ET): Meanwhile, the No.1 Wildcats will be favored at LSU, where the Tigers have already upset a team that was ranked in the top 10 at the time, but Kentucky is a different animal than the Marquette team that they defeated.
Saint Mary’s BYU Odds (9:00 PM ET): Experienced players that work with systems know that there are great games outside of the major conferences, and this matchup from the West Coast conference pits No.21 Saint Mary’s on the road at BYU; these teams love to get up and down the floor and could be the game of the weekend.
UFC Betting
UFC on Fox 2 (prelims start at 5:10 PM ET; TV broadcast at 9:00 PM ET): While next week’s PPV card has to contend with , this card on Fox will have an easier time drawing fans in. The main event features light heavyweights Rashad Evans and Phil Davis, and Evans can earn a shot at champion and former teammate Jon Jones with a win. In the middleweight division, Chael Sonnen takes on Michael Bisping with a shot at champ Anderson Silva on the line, while fellow 185-pounders Demain Maia and Chris Weidman battle it out.
Australian Open Odds
Azarenka Sharapova Odds (3:35 AM ET): Victoria Azerenka is favored over Maria Sharapova in the final of the women’s draw in Melbourne, and this match features arguably the two loudest players on the tour. Azarenka is looking for her first Grand Slam singles title, while Sharapova has won three, including the 2008 Aussie Open, so she is a dangerous underdog down under.
