Betting News: Kings Sweep Blues To Reach West Finals; Flyers Lose

In one of the most intriguing stories of the NHL playoffs, the eighth-seeded Los Angeles Kings beat the St. Louis Blues 3-1 on Sunday to reach the Western conference finals. Less than a month ago the Kings were in a dogfight for the final playoff spot in the west, and now they are suddenly just four wins away from the Stanley Cup final. Jonathan Quick has once again been the biggest story for Los Angeles as he continues to prove himself as one of the top young goalies in the game, and with playoff veterans like Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, the Kings have to feel they have as good of a chance to win it all as any of the other teams. Meanwhile, team that traded away both Richards and Carter certainly could have used them after the Philadelphia Flyers fell 4-2 to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday, and now face a three-games-to-one series deficit. Dainius Zubrus scored twice for the Devils and Martin Brodeur only had to make 20 saves as the Devils moved within one win of the Eastern conference finals.

NBA News: Knicks Stay Alive To Fight One More; Bulls Lose Again

The New York Knicks will be taking their talents to South Beach one more time this season after holding off the Miami Heat and avoiding elimination with an 89-87 win on Sunday. Carmelo Anthony scored 41 points and Amare Stoudamire returned to add another 20 with 10 rebounds in what was undoubtedly the Knicks’ most complete game of the series. Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Philadelphia 76ers each opened three-games-to-one series leads against their respective opponents, with the 76ers now one game away from eliminating the Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls and advancing to the second round.

MLB News: Pujols Hits First Home Run With Angels Sunday

Texas Rangers’ starter Yu Darvish suffered his first defeat of the season despite throwing 11 strikeouts in a 4-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians, and the Baltimore Orioles needed 17 innings to beat the Boston Red Sox 9-6 and maintain their position at the top of the American League East, but the biggest baseball story Sunday was that Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim slugger Albert Pujols finally ended his homerless drought with a two-run shot that was the difference in a 4-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. It marked the first time in 111 at-bats with his new team that Pujols finally got it over the wall, resulting in a long standing ovation from the fans that seemed more about relief than excitement. Pujols is batting just .196 to start the season, and any hope that the Angels have of climbing out of the AL West basement will begin and end with their star free agent signing being much better.

NASCAR News: Keselowski Wins At Talladega

Whenever the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series goes to the Talladega Superspeedway there is always going to be trouble, but after a season-high 19 cars were sent to the garage early, the intensity of one of the toughest tracks on the NSCS schedule was up another level. In the end it was Brad Keselowski emerging on the final restart to capture his second win of the season, holding off Kyle Busch at the end after knocking out his brother Kurt Busch and the Talladega Nights themed No. 51 car earlier in the race
