Golf News: Tiger Comes Back To Win Memorial; Ties Nicklaus

In one of the most incredible moments of the golf season so far, Tiger Woods embraced Jack Nicklaus in a memorable shot on the greens at the Muirfield Village Golf Club, following another incredible comeback win for the former World No. 1. Tiger was at his best on Sunday, birdying three of his final four holes to close with a 5-under-67 to move in to a tie with Nicklaus on the all-time wins list with the 73rd of his career. The 14-time major champion is suddenly right back on the radar with the US Open right around the corner, as he continues his pursuit of Nicklaus’ major record.

NBA News: Celtics Survive Overtime; Even Series At Two

In one of the most dramatic finishes so far in these NBA playoffs, the Boston Celtics watched on anxiously as Dwayne Wade missed a go-ahead three-ball in the dying seconds of overtime, allowing the home side to come through with a 93-91 win over the Miami Heat and send the Eastern conference final series back to South Beach tied at one. Both Lebron James and Paul Pierce watched from the sidelines as Wade attempted that clear look from beyond the arc after both had fouled out earlier in the extra period, but in the end the shot was just off the mark and the series was suddenly reduced to a best-of-three in what could be its defining moment. James finished with 29 points, six rebounds before fouling out for the first time in a Miami uniform, while Rajon Rondo scored 15, and added 15 assists for the winning Celtics.

News: Rangers Avoid Sweep Versus Angels; Yankees Win

After dropping the first two of a three-game set by one run each, the American League West leading Texas Rangers avoided a sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim with a 7-3 win on Sunday. Nelson Cruz went deep in the seventh inning to help Matt Harrison earn his third-straight win, and Texas extended its lead in the AL West to 4.5 games. Meanwhile, Derek Jeter took the first pitch of the game deep and over the wall, with Alex Rodriguez adding another home run to help the New York Yankees to a 5-1 win over the Detroit Tigers, and the Toronto Blue Jays avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the Boston Red Sox with reigning two-time home run king Jose Bautista hitting a three-run home run in a 5-1 win.

NASCAR News: Mr. Five-Time Continues Dominance At Dover

Considering he had finished in the top-10 in seven of the past eight races at Dover International Speedway, including wins in three of the last six, it really is no surprise that five-time Sprint Cup Series winner Jimmie Johnson delivered again in the FedEx 400 on Sunday. Johnson led 289 of the 400 laps at Dover for his seventh win on the Monster Mile, making it three in a row for the Hendrick Motor Sports’ team in the SCS dating back to Johnson’s All Star win and Kasey Kahne’s victory at the Coca Cola 600.
