Don't miss out today is $5 Friday and we get it started with another MAX value 5* play where we are 28-7 ats after winning again last night with Wichita State. Don't miss out on tonight's MLB POD guaranteed or 1 day is FREE !
Blue Jays -123 (5* POD)
Ricky Romero goes up against Carl Pavano tonight in Toronto where the Blue Jays were 45-33 last year. The Twins were a solid road team at 41-40. Romero has been excellent to start the year as he had a 2.25 ERA in April in 2010 and 1.71 through the first month of his season in 2009. He’s a better pitcher at home than away and the Twins struggled more last year when they faced left handed pitchers than right as they hit just 41 HR compared to 101 vs. RHP. Romero is also an excellent 2-0 with a 2.78 ERA in 3 career starts vs. the Twins including his 2010 start where he went 8 innings gave up just 6 hits and 2 ER. The Twins will get Morneau back, but he has struggled this spring batting just .152 in his first 10 games. I don’t think this team will really start to click until Morneau gets used to playing every day. Putting him in the middle of the line up is going to be like a huge hole for a while until he’s back and used to playing. Bluejays resigned the league leader for HR in Bautista and watch out for their rookie catcher JP Arenciba he can be something special. Toronto is 38-16 in their last 54 as home favorites and they have just dominated RH pitching here and overall going 38-18 in their last 56 home vs. RH starter. They hit .258 vs. RHP compared to .215 vs. LHP a year ago and hit 4 times as many home runs vs. RHP than LHP. It took them an average 6.97 at bats to score a run vs. RHP and 8.65 at bats to score a run vs. LHP. Their slugging % is 100points higher and their OPS is 130 points higher based on stats from last year. Carl Pavano though coming off a good year will try to change those stats, but in his last two starts at Toronto he’s gone just 10.1 IP giving up 18 hits 12 ER and 5 HR’s. I like the Jays here to open their season with a victory.
