Matt Cain is coming off a fabulous year in which he had a 2.89 EAR. His April was that much better with a 2.08 ERA in fact he has a 2.69 ERA in the last 3 Aprils combined. Houston has a .293 average off him, but it's mostly coming from two members who just don't scare me. Carlos Lee who is 5-8, and the odds are against him at this point and Kaz Matsui is 8-26. Matsui won't burn you with power so he can get on base all he wants. The Giants are 25-12 in their last 37 in Houston and looking for the sweep. Did I mention that Cain pitched more than a full run in ERA better during day starts last year vs. night starts with a 2.29 ERA and 6-2 record. he'll face ex Phillie Brett Myers.

Myers will make his first start for the Astros and last April he didn't do too hot with a 4.83 ERA and he has a 5.40 ERA over the last 3 years in April. Giants are hitting .357 with Molina/Derosa/Renteria with 20 hits in 52 ABs. Look for that success to continue as the Astros are 8-21 in their last 29 vs. RH starter.
