I will back the Yankees here as they fight to get back in the mix. Basically KC has not blown me away at all lately as they are struggling to score runs just 2.74 per 9 vs. RHP in their last 10. The Yankees bullpen has an ERA under 2 in their last 10 and Michael Pineda has yet to give up more than 2 runs in any start. He's just pitched great and his arm far more fresh compared to other starters like Shields with just 43 innings on the season. Shields does come into this game on 5 days rest but he's the type of pitcher that needs to stay in a rhythm. He has only 2 quality starts on 5 days rest on the road and today's line up has hit him well including Jeter, McCann, and Ichiro 3 veteran leaders that know what it takes to get into the playoffs.
