With a chance at still functioning a playoff spot on the line they are desperate after losing six of seven games. They also still have a chance to win the West but it has to start tonight with one victory over the Dodgers.

They begin the series with Jake Peavy on the mound which is a good thing considering he is 14 – 3 with a 2.28 ERA in a 0.975 with him 26 career starts against the Dodgers. Peavy has also been red-hot down the stretch going 6-1 with a 1.13 ERA in his last seven overall starts while allowing only six ER over 48 innings pitched. Danny Haran is simply feed material when he's a home favorite going 14 and 23 over his last 37 games between this line.
