Sports Betting – Taking A Look At Saturday’s Slate

Step away from the screen for a second and check out the wealth of sports betting options you have on Saturday as it’s a full day in baseball, while the UFC tries to hold a card without any more injuries, and the third round of Tiger Woods’ return to golf tees off.

MLB Baseball Betting

Reds Cubs Odds (1:05 PM ET): Two fiery pitchers take to the mound at Wrigley Field as Chicago’s Carlos Zambrano welcomes Cincinnati’s Johnny Cueto to town.

Yankees Red Sox Odds (4:10 PM ET): It’s always an occasion when these two get together, and New York’s C.C. Sabathia will get the call to go up against Boston’s John Lackey at Fenway Park.

Phillies Giants Odds (4:10 PM ET): At the same time in San Francisco, you could see the best matchup of the day as the Giants’ Matt Cain meets the Phillies’ Cole Hamels.

Tigers Royals Odds (7:10 PM ET): Detroit ace Justin Verlander goes for win No.16 in Kansas City, where the Royals will counter with rookie Danny Duffy.

White Sox Twins Odds (7:10 PM ET): A pair of veterans will be on the mound in Minnesota as the Twins’ Carl Pavano goes up against Chicago’s Jake Peavy.

Braves Mets Odds (7:10 PM ET): In a National League matchup, Atlanta’s Tommy Hanson will get the ball for the Braves, while Jonathon Niese goes for New York.

Cardinals Marlins Odds (7:10 PM ET): This could be pitching matchup 1-A, as St. Louis’ Chris Carpenter is on the hill against Florida’s Ricky Nolasco.

Indians Rangers Odds (8:05 PM ET): Finally, C.J. Wilson will lead out Texas to face Fausto Carmona in Cleveland in a meeting of American League contenders.

UFC Betting

UFC 133 Betting (Prelims start at 6:00 PM ET): fans know that injuries can play a role in cards, but this card has been jinxed from the beginning. But it played into the hands of Tito Ortiz, who is the third fighter slated to face Rashad Evans after injuries to light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Phil Davis. These two fought two a draw four years ago, and they’re also former champs, so everything will be on the line in Philadelphia. Elsewhere, Vitor Belfort will take on Yoshihiro Akiyama in his first match since suffering a brutal knockout at the hands (well, the foot) of middleweight king Anderson Silva.

Golf Betting

WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Betting (check for tee times): The third round of this event won’t be all about Woods, who has a -1 score heading into Saturday, but his return will receive a lot of attention. Currently, four players are at -8 under, but Jason Day is early in his round and should stretch out a lead to boost his odds in your book.
