Betting News: Tebow Rallies Broncos In Loss; Could Start Week Seven

After months of ridiculous media coverage and debate, and a 1-4 start to their regular season, the Denver Broncos could finally start quarterback Tim Tebow against the Miami Dolphins in week seven. Tebow replaced starter Kyle Orton in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the San Diego Chargers, and he rallied the Broncos from down 16 points with a pair of touchdowns before eventually falling 29-24. Tebow threw for one score and then ran for another, but the defense gave up six points and Denver’s final drive stalled to allow San Diego to hold on for their fourth win. Once again the crowd cheered for Tebow as the Broncos left the field, and with a bye this coming week, Denver head coach John Fox could decide to make the move to Tebow before a trip to Miami. Other notable results from Sunday include the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers rallying from an early 14-point deficit to overcome the Atlanta Falcons on the road in a 25-14 win on Sunday Night Football, while earlier in the day Tom Brady and the New England Patriots sent the reeling New York Jets to a third straight loss with a 30-21 effort.

NHL News: Jets’ Takeoff Delayed As Canadiens Spoil Party

The Winnipeg Jets’ return to the NHL was spoiled by the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday, as the visitors silenced the thousands on hand at the MTS Centre with a 5-1 win. Tomas Plekanec scored once and added two assists, and Carey Price made 30 saves to spoil the Jets’ home opener, and earn their first win of the season on the heels of a 2-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday night. Montreal dominated play for 60 minutes, but that didn’t silence the Winnipeg faithful, who gave their team a standing ovation following the loss to show their support.

News: TCU Set To Join Big 12

After losing three schools in the past month, the Big 12 are set to welcome a major addition to their conference in the form of defending Rose Bowl champions TCU. The Horned Frogs are just one of potentially six teams that could be on their way to the Big 12, with Navy, Air Force, and Army all among the schools that have been mentioned for football-only membership.

NBA News: NBA To Cancel First Two Weeks Of Regular Season

The NBA is set to cancel the first two weeks of the regular season if they cannot come up with a new deal by the end of meetings on Monday. The owners and their players met for over five hours on Sunday night before breaking with a promise to reconvene on Monday, but if the sides are unable to make significant progress in terms of BMI and other related issues, the start of the regular season will be compromised.
