News: Ravens Come Through To Sweep Steelers On SNF

The Baltimore Ravens continued their dominance of the Pittsburgh Steelers this season with a 23-20 win at Heinz Field on Sunday Night Football. Joe Flacco threw for 300 yards but none of his 28 completions was more important than when he hit Torrey Smith for the game-winning score with just eight seconds left on the clock to spoil the party. The Ravens weren’t the only team to play spoiler on Sunday as Tim Tebow threw for 124 passing yards and ran for 118 more as the Broncos spoiled Carson Palmer’s first start for the Raiders in a 38-24 win, while Eli Manning and the New York Giants handed the New England Patriots their second consecutive loss with a 24-20 win.

News: Canucks Dominate Blackhawks In Rivalry Game

Five powerplay goals by the Vancouver Canucks made the difference in a 6-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, as Henrik Sedin came through with a goal and three assists to pace the defending Western conference champions. While the rivalry game was originally projected to be the most exciting, it ended up a blowout and was replaced by the Tampa Bay Lightning’s thrilling three-goal comeback against the Florida Panthers in a shootout as the top game.

NASCAR News: Stewart Comes Through Again At Texas

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series continued to wind down on Sunday with the race at the Texas Motor Speedway, and another improbable finish as Tony Stewart captured his fourth consecutive victory by edging out points leader Carl Edwards for the victory. Stewart moved to within three points of Edwards for first place in the SCS standings with the victory, setting up an exciting finish with just two races left in the season. While Stewart has made the Chase exciting, five-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson’s run is all but over after a 14th place finish pushed him 55 points back of the lead.

NCAAF News: Cowboys Move To No. 2, ‘Bama Not Done Yet

While an overtime loss to the No. 1 LSU Tigers in the biggest game of the year will be an obvious setback for the Alabama Crimson Tide, they aren’t done just yet even though they have been downgraded to No. 3 in the national rankings. Alabama still ranks ahead of both Stanford and Boise State in the top-five, with their strength of schedule and the fact that they went to overtime in their SEC showdown among the biggest reasons why the Tide is still alive for both a conference championship and shot at a BCS National title game. The frontrunner position for that shot belongs to the No. 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys after they improved to 9-0 with a 52-45 over the No. 14 Kansas State Wildcats. The Cowboys still have to play their season finale against the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners, and if they lose and Alabama goes undefeated the remainder of the way, then it could come down to a rematch between LSU and the Crimson Tide in the BCS title game.
