Sports Betting – A Preview Of Thursday’s Slate

The kicks off Thursday’s sports betting slate with an intriguing matchup from the AFC, while college football and hoops elbows its way into the spotlight, along with some NHL action on the ice.

NFL Betting

Jets Broncos Odds (8:20 PM ET): New York comes into Denver as 6-point road favorites, and that’s no . The Jets were embarrassed at home by New England on Saturday and they’re on the road against a Broncos team that has found some success with their read-option running game.

NCAA Football Odds

Tar Heels Hokies Betting (8:00 PM ET): The No.8 Hokies are going about their business and enter this ACC visit from North Carolina as a 10.5-point home favorite according to odds. It’ll be Senior Night in Blacksburg, and the Hokies have a huge matchup looming with rival Virginia next week that could decide the winner of the Coastal division, but Virginia Tecth have to remain focused on North Carolina, who have lost three of their last four.

College Basketball Betting

Maryland Alabama Odds (5:00 PM ET): No.15 Alabama should be the favorites in your in Puerto Rico against the Terrapins, who earned a win in their first game under new head coach Mark Turgeon, who replaces the legendary Garry Williams. It’s the first time since 1989 that Williams hasn’t been leading the program, and a victory over a ranked team would instill more confidence in the Turgeon regime.

St. John’s Arizona Odds (9:30 PM ET): The Red Storm were the surprise of last season and while they should be underdogs against No.16 Arizona at the 2K Sports Classic, this “neutral-site” affair will take place at Madison Square Garden, where St. John’s plays a portion of their home games and took down a number of ranked teams last season. If there was a time to consider the upset, this would be the game.

NHL Betting

Red Wings Sharks Odds (10:30 PM ET): San Jose should be the favorites at home in this Western Conference affair, and even though Detroit hasn’t been sharp out of the gate, they’re still a veteran team that is going to be a force to be reckoned with later in the season and they seem to rise to the occasion against good teams. This is the final game on a busy night in the NHL and both teams will be looking to make a statement. For all of the talk of San Jose’s postseason troubles, they have eliminated the Red Wings in two straight playoff series, so that should provide extra motivation for Detroit in what should be a great matchup for players.
