NFL : Tebow Wins Again; Packers Still Perfect

Another Sunday of NFL football is in the books, and while the Green Bay Packers are still in pursuit of perfection, the Denver Broncos are tied for the top spot in the AFC West thanks to another impressive performance by Tim Tebow. While Tebow will be the last person to get credit for Denver’s run of six wins in seven games, it’s hard to put this result on a defense that gave up 32 points against the lowly Minnesota Vikings, especially considering that Tebow completed 66-percent of his passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Broncos will host the Chicago Bears next week as the Tebow-saga continues, while the Packers can do them a favor as they return home to host the Oakland Raiders. Green Bay barely managed to squeeze one out in New York with a last-second field goal to beat the Giants, and now face a tough test against a talented Raiders’ team in a desperate position after a tough loss.

Golf News: Tiger Ends Two-Year Winless Drought

For the first time in over two years, Tiger Woods is a tournament champion again. Woods closed a three-under 69 at the Chevron Challenge to edge out former Masters champion Zach Johnson for his first win in 27 tournaments on Sunday, bringing to an end a dark period in Woods’ career. It was his 83rd win in tournaments that award ranking points, and his first since the Australian Masters back in 2009.

NHL News: Boudreau Continues To Face Challenges In Anaheim

When new head coach Bruce Boudreau arrived on the west coast to take over the Anaheim Ducks and make the fastest coaching change in NHL history from his former club to his new club, everybody felt that it was the right move. Perhaps for Boudreau’s sanity however, he maybe should have waited a little longer. In his second game as the bench boss for Anaheim, Boudreau watched his team build an early two-goal lead, only to allow three straight unanswered in an eventual 3-2 loss. The Ducks have blown leads in both of their games under Boudreau and with just one win in their past 10 games now sit 7-14-5, two points better than the Columbus Blue Jackets as the second-worst record in the Western conference. The Ducks host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday before traveling to face the St. Louis Blues, so things won’t be getting any easier anytime soon.

News: BCS Gets It Right With Championship Game Rematch

While there are those that will complain about the projected lack of offense for the 2012 BCS Championship game with the No. 1 LSU Tigers set to take on the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide in a SEC rematch from a game that finished with a 9-6 overtime result earlier this year, the fact of the matter is that they got this one right. The point of the BCS Championship game is to allow the top two teams in the country to clash against one another for the right to be called the best in the nation, and there is no doubt that LSU and Alabama have been the two best teams all year with an overtime field goal the lone difference in their records.
