Sports Betting – A Look At Thursday’s Slate

players are still managing to fit in some wagering along with their Christmas duties, and Thursday features a few matchups worth betting on heading into the weekend as the NFL kicks off Week 15, one of the top college hoops teams in the country may continue to go into action without their star player and there are a trip of NHL matchups with the docket.

NFL Betting

Jaguars Falcons Odds (8:20 PM ET): Atlanta is an 11-point favorite at home against Jacksonville, and that spread is no as the Jaguars are scrappy, but they’re not a very good team. The Falcons are generally a good team at home and are still in the mix when it comes to the playoffs, so they have plenty to play for, while the Jaguars have a rookie quarterback and they just fired their coach; that’s a recipe for disaster.

NCAA Basketball Odds

USC Upstate Ohio State Odds (7:30 PM ET): The No.2 Buckeyes will be favored at home by those who use services against smaller USC Upstate and they should have no problems getting by them, but the big picture doesn’t look as good as All-American big man Jared Sullinger is still out with back problems and there is no clue as to when he’ll be back. Sullinger is huge in stature, but he is even bigger in regards to Ohio State’s national-title odds.

NHL Betting

Kings Blue Jackets Odds (7:00 PM ET): Columbus should be the favorites at home in this NHL betting matchup, but Los Angeles has bigger worries as they lost their first game under interim head coach John Stevens by a score of 3-0 and they’re reportedly on the hunt for Darryl Sutter after firing Terry Murray. Many people who run a thought that Los Angeles could be a solid wager to run with, but the Kings have been one of the biggest disappointments in the league.

Flyers Canadiens Odds (7:30 PM ET): Philadelphia should be the underdogs on the road in Montreal, and they’ll be without Claude Giroux, who leads the league in scoring but will be out of the lineup indefinitely with a concussion. After Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby went back on the sideline with concussion symptoms just a few game into his return, teams are going to be careful with their players, so don’t expect to see Giroux for a while.

Capitals Jets Odds (8:30 PM ET): The line for this game will be close either way, but Winnipeg is actually a point ahead of Washington in the Southeast Division and have won six of their last 10. The Capitals were routed 5-1 at home by Philadelphia on Tuesday and still haven’t completely bought into Dale Hunter’s method of doing things. It wouldn’t be a surprise at all if the were favored on Thursday.
