Sports Betting Money Management

Posted by Freddy Wills on June 7th, 2009 - 01:27:27AM.

Money Management is the single most important advice that I can offer you. It is absolutley essential when you are trying to earn a profit off your investment in betting on sports. Without money management which is basically a set of rules on how much money you will bet on each game, you are gambling your money away. I look at betting on sports as an investment like buying stocks. I don't view it as gambling and that is because of money management. Setting a bank roll is a must this is a number that a bettor can afford. Betting over your head and throwing rent and grocery money away on sports betting is simply foolish. If you don't set your bank roll you are more than likely to chase your losses and increase your bets to make up for losses this is never a good idea and you will always end up losing.

Basketball Teasers

Posted by Freddy Wills on February 10th, 2009 - 05:27:32PM.

We highly recommend that you do not do basketball teasers. While we think there is some value in teasing games in football the opposite is true in basketball. The number one reason for this is that there is no key number in basketball like there is in football. In football there are two key numbers 3 (field goal) and 7 (touch down), and all multiples of these numbers such as 10, 14, 17, 20, 21 etc. Teasers are useful in certain situation when you have teams just under a key number. You also get 6 points in football which gives you a lot of value at two field goals. In basketball where more poitns are score at a higher rate you only get 4 points for the same price. To me I stay away from basketball teasers all together for these very reasons and I highly recommend you do so as well.

Point Spreads | ATS | Run Line

The spread or some time referred as the run line in baseball or betting ATS which stands for after the spread.

This involves giving or taking points. When you are reading the odds you will see a -# or a +#. The minus stands for the favorite in the match up and the number next to that is how many points you have to win by to get a win. The + stands for the under dog the team that is not favored to win. The number next to that represents the amount of points or runs that team can afford to lose by.
